Karambit Technique against an overhead knife attack

NOTE:
A knife attack is a serious life threatening situation and it should be countered with a life taking technique.
The following technique is a hard core and graphic technique. It is one similar to those taught to Military and Special Forces for actual combat situations.

Special thanks to HANS GUTKNECHT for the Photos.

As the attack comes draw your karambit. Move off line  of the attack and left hand parry to redirect and control the attackers arm. At the same time close the gap and prepare for a pectoralis ( chest muscle) cut. This will cut through the pectoralis muscle and the brachial plexus and artery . These two movements are done at the same time.  Parry-Cut

Initial target is just below the collarbone. The cut is made on a downward  45 degree angle through the muscle.  We keep control of the of the weapon hand at all times with our left hand.

Once the cut is made we use the back of the karambit to "fillet" down to the wrist as we take control of the wrist in preparation to disarm the attacker.

Prepare to disarm by controlling the wrist and thumb with your left-hand and place the karambit between the fingers of the attacker and also against the blade of the knife.

1. Place the karambit the blade.     2. Drive your arm in a downward angle towards the ground. Make a direct path from the knife towards the ground. Remember to stabilize the wrist as you strip the blade. The knife along with several fingers will fly off the hand of your opponent.

Once the disarm is made, re-grab the arm with the left hand and follow up with a slash to the opponents neck ending all possibilities of a further attack.

NOW CLICK  HERE TO VIEW THE SAME TECHNIQUE DONE WITH A KARAMBIT/TRAINER USED AS A CONTROL DEVISE. NO CUTS, NO BLOOD...BUT EFFECTIVE!!
By the way, Be careful !!!!!!!!!!!

Those damn live blades!!
